Sometimes your eye is caught by a tweet or e-mail subject line using symbols like:

Here are a couple of ways to add symbols to your tweets, posts, e-mails, etc.
1. Go tohttp://copypastecharacter.com/... just left click on a symbol and then paste (control+v) it into your document
2. If you have a keyboard with a numberic pad, the ALT key can help you access alt codes, or characters that aren't readily available on a normal keyboard ... just follow these steps:
A. Find Alt code.
Numeric code that stands for symbol you want to make. See list below.
B. Enable Num Lock.
Usually Num Lock is a button located on keyboard's right side (on numeric Keypad). It "unlocks" the numeric pad. When you'll enable it, typically a green Num Lock indicator will shine green.
C. Press "Alt" (button).
You have to press down and hold Alt key button on your keyboard. Try left, if it doesn't work, try the right one.
D. Type the Alt code in with Keypad keys.
Do this while holding Alt key pressed. The code needs to be entered on the Numeric keypad (right key pad on typical keyboards). Enter the numeric Alt code of symbol you want to make.
E. Release all the keys.
If you did everything right then the symbol will have been inserted once you released the Alt button.
